How to Reach Elba

The island of Elba is reachable from Piombino Marittima, where four shipping companies (Toremar, Moby Lines, Blu Navy and Corsica Ferries) offer comfortable ferry rides during the all summer season. In an hour the ferries cover the 10 km separating the island from the mainland, reaching the ports of Portoferraio, Cavo and Rio Marina.
Alternatively there is a hydrofoil service, for passengers only, which reaches Portoferraio in just 35 minutes.

By car:
From North (see map): from Milano take the A1. Take the A15 at Parma Ovest to join the A12 Genova-Livorno. Exit at Rosignano Marittima and continue on S.S. Aurelia to Venturina-Isola d’Elba and then for Piombino Marittima.

From North-East (see map): take the A1 Bologna-Florence-Pisa-Livorno. Exit at Rosignano and continue on S.S. Aurelia to Venturina-Isola d’Elba and then for Piombino Marittima.
Alternatively, the S.G.C. Florence-Pisa-Livorno. Exit at Firenze Scandicci and follow the S.S. to Collesalvetti. Return to highway to Rosignano Marittima. Take the S.S to Venturina-Isola d’Elba and then for Piombino Marittima.

From South (see map): take the A12 Roma-Grosseto. S.S. Aurelia exit at Venturina-Isola d’Elba and continue to Piombino Marittima.

By plane:
During summer, the island of Elba is connected to the mainland by numerous flights operated by Italian and foreign companies. The main airports are: Milan Malpensa and Linate, Pisa, Zurich, Bern, Friedrichshafen, Munich.
The airport of Elba is located in La Pila 15 km from our hotel.

On the train:
The arrival station for boarding on the ferries is Piombino Marittima (for train timetables see www.trenitalia.it).
